Molecualr and Cellular Phramacology Group Mission Statement
The remit of the MCPG is is to provide coverage of topics in the area of molecular and
cellular pharmacology for members of the Society. Our group is composed of Biochemists from
both industry and academia, and we are particularly interested in serving the needs of members
of the Society in industry. The expertise of our group spans immunopharmacology, signal
transduction, drug metabolism and xenobiotics, neuropharmacology and molecular modelling.
We organize meetings on diverse topics, some of direct relevance to the pharmaceutical industry,
others in areas of basic research likely to be of relevance to drug development and therapeutic
targeting.
The MCPG committee encourages members to suggest topics for future meetings, either as stand
alone symposia or as colloquiua at main Biochemical Society meetings.
Any suggestions should be forwarded to committee members by e-mail.
